Muhanamwé
Muhanamwé, meaning culture, has emerged from Melbourne’s dense and vibrant world music scene as one of Australia's freshest and most exciting West African percussion and dance ensembles. With compelling rhythms, raw vocal harmonies, rippling balafon melodies, stunning costumes and superhuman dance moves, Muhanamwé not only draws from its deep roots in West Africa but also brings new life to the ancient musical and cultural tradition with original arrangements and drum solos.
Cookin on Three Burners
Cookin' On 3 Burners are Australia's hardest hitting Hammond Organ Trio - joining the dots between deep funk, raw soul, organ jazz & boogaloo. Since forming in 2000 the three-piece have forged a well-earned reputation on the international deep funk & soul scene with a series of acclaimed releases aimed squarely at the dance floor and the Sunday afternoon barbeque.
Boomla
10-piece soul, funk, performance art with hints of trip-hop, roots and eccentricity.
Boomla is the brainchild of Ben Brazil and Syrene — who as well as writing amazing lyrics, delivers them in tremendous voice
Sol Nation
Sol Nation is more than a band, it’s a meeting of nations and cultures - East Timorese, Indigenous and Australian. Drawing some of its members from top world and reggae bands, Sol Nation embodies Melbourne's multiculturalism and is a living testament to what can be achieved through music - bridging cultures, languages and borders.
